Banff National Park

Banff National Park
Banff National Park started as a small hot spring reserve that has grown into over 6000 square kilometers of spectacular scenery in the Canadian Rockies. Whether wanting to relax in Mother Nature’s splendour or looking for adventure, the Rockies contains something for everyone. From the majestic mountaintops to the sparkling lake waters, thousands visit the park annually to enjoy numerous activities.

The natural spas that started it all are available as Upper Hot Springs continues to offer guests the relaxing, soothing waters in the spring fed hot pool. The location also provides aromatherapy, message therapy, a steam room and wellness treatments. Families are welcome as there is a special area of the pool designated for young guests.

Numerous biking, hiking, horseback riding and walking trails are available for visitors to enjoy the scenic surroundings. Meadows in full bloom, ice glaciers, waterfalls and wildlife decorate nature’s canvas. Guided and GPS tours welcome explorers daily and for a unique experience, there are heli-hikes that take individuals to remote areas by helicopter to experience backwoods adventure hiking. In the winter, the peaks are a favourite skiing destination.

The mountains provide rock climbing for the athlete or zipline tours for the adrenaline seeker. Travel down mountain sides and across rivers while enjoying breathtaking views and discovering the animal and plant life that exists in this environment.

Lake Minnewanka has become a popular scuba diving location, where many come to explore the amazing world underwater. Grotto Mountain provides cave tours for those who relish exploring dark, narrow passageways and repelling down corridors to witness the creations of nature.

Banff offers a wide variety of accommodations from lodges to rustic campsites for RV’s and tents. Some campsites have amenities while other do not, but all share the beautiful views of the Rocky Mountains.
